Where Would I Go?

It rains so hard,
That I don’t know,
If the world outside,
Can still go on.
It rains so loud,
It fills the air,
Until I don’t know,
If I’m really there.
It rains so long,
The rain goes on,
Acid pink, of razor sheen.
It salts the earth, washes away,
And I wonder if I went out today,
If the rain would fizz against my skin,
Dissolving away, inch by inch by inch
The way of snow,
Or fallen ice-cream cone,
And if I melted, eroded, torn clean,
I just wonder,
I want to know,
Where would I go?
It shines so bright,
The ground is alight,
Is awash with fire,
And the clouds give way, to welcome the sky,
A rainbow stairway, amidst drops of gold,
Proud and soaring, it welcomes the bold.
And should I step upon that road,
I just wonder,
Yes, I want to know,
Where would I go?

I love the occasional lines
I love the occasional lines of rhyme in this. Gives it a kind of figure. A quirk that stands out. I like the repetition of the question ending the last two stanzas, too. A kind of persistence that drives the thing along in a lyrical (as in sung) way.
