Forget-Me-Not

One day
You love me
A bouquet of red roses
and box sets in my council flat
Next week
You take me home
I refuge to your abode
You convince me entirely
A few months have passed
I am blinded by love
Your comfort and facade
Has become my crutch
As I wake from my haze
I hear the serpent stir
As a cycle of sex and infidelity occur
We will never be what we once were
One year later, things haven't changed
The others involved have yet to be named
I know I shouldn't be exclusively blamed
Though its too late, I've already been shamed
One day you love me
Then you decide its off
And some how its my fault
Like sugar and salt
I can recall unrequited bedsheets
In an insoluble blossom
You caught me at a dead end
Whilst I was struggling at the bottom
You still do not know me
I scarcely do
But it would be reasonable to state
The answer wasn't you
Its tragic as I continue to trip over us
What it was like to be in love
The guilt riddles me every night
That one day, our patience might.
