The Shadow Of Your Heart

Everytime I look at you
I'm looking up
I'm looking at my place
Overtook.
Everytime I have to look at you
I can hear your voice
and I crave it to belong to me
but I have already made that choice.
Everytime I look at you
I can feel your solitude
I think about our love
How it diminished, an abrupt closure, unfinished.
You know it was something great, so blessed
too much responsibility to handle
and it was smarter than us both.
Everytime I chose to look at you
and I trace a label on your heart
My signature, my place
My position, I fought so manicly to only
foolishly, offer to her the oppertunity, to wrap us up.
Chasing, desperately like I once did
for a free ride.
Manipulation like that is difficult to disguise.
I know how it feels, rotting deep down inside,
an act I once carried out, for you.
How could you ever have trusted such a twisted girl?
Where possessive thoughts conjure and swirl.
Charging slowly, preparing to explode
posioning the air with a patronising, and arrogant stare.
Giving up was the hardest part
Quiting a hobby so beloved
is like losing a piece of your heart
...Still you gaze into her bouncy ginger hair.
It's not my buisness, I just care too much.
I know you're no longer mine, but still
I won't let anyone touch
The Shadow Of Your Heart.
