Stockholm Syndrome

You knew I was mildly agoraphobic,
That whenever we bounced apart
I could not sleep alone.
So you despised me for it
But elastic always brought you back
And not to devise ways to dispose of me,
Though you said you’d like to find me
Hanging from the nearest tree-
I’m sorry it turned out that was you
But on the bright side
You won’t be able to stop loving me now
And I am a victim
Of the Stockholm Syndrome in reverse
Or so you would have had me believe.
