A Poem In a Bottle

Hi,
This is Sean Nelson, Eric Nelson's son. We hung out a couple times at
Provensen/Nelson clan gatherings. I remember we always got along pretty
well over a few brewskies.
Basically, Christian, this is why I'm writing you. I just graduated
from Southern Oregon University with a degree in literature. Poetry is
my real passion; it takes way too much of my time. I've also written
quite a few lyrics, although I don't know anything about music. I've
always been impressed by your musical talent, especially your voice.
I'm giving you a link to some of my lyrics. Feel free to make use of
any of them. I don't want any money out of it, now or ever. I just want
to get the lyrics in motion and start to build my literary reputation.
Naturally, I do want lyrical credit; use "Sean Lawlor Nelson." Feel
free to modify anything as you see fit.
The link I'm giving you is only to a small part of my lyrical
collection. If you like what you see, tell me, and I'll find a way to
isolate my lyrics from my poetry at large and give you a link to
it.
Business out of the way, how have you been these years? Last time I
hung out with you, you were studying philosophy. I love philosophy but
I think some professors get too academic and lose the trail of wisdom.
It seems to me I remember Jeanie telling me you were engaged. If so,
Congratulations!
My life has gotten a lot more interesting in recent years: a lot of
highs, a lot of lows. I've had some experiences now. I've stuffed
myself with sushi, I've sodomized a black girl. In Mexico, I swam amid
a school of sword-fish. Anyway, tell me what you think of the lyrics.
For a subject, use: Christian Provensen .
I wish you the best,
Sean
