Two Pieces of Wood

They decided to cut some wood
Two long planks
Nailed together
A crucifix.

They took it to the pagans
who cried
They lit a fire to mourn
the death of the tree.

They took it to the atheists
who couldn't believe
They didn't understand
Why waste the wood?

They took it to the satanists
who laughed
at the symbol of torture
and they tried to set it alight.

They took it to the fanatacists
who cried:
JIHAD
and began a holy war.

They took it to the Christians
who raised it up
they wanted to replant it
in their church.

They brought it to my home
I remembered
