There once was a reindeer named Dasher,
whose home were the plains of Alaska;
he could outrun the wind, being very thick-skinned,
so, ‘Come – pull my sleigh,’ pleaded Santa.
‘Delighted I’m sure,’ was his answer.
‘I’ve a friend could help, too, name of Dancer;
he plays the maracas, and is totally crackers,
but there’s nothing on earth that is faster.’
Now Dasher and Dancer knew Prancer,
who, in his spare time, was a Pastor –
a man of the cloth, with a hot-line to God
who, for newly sprung wings, thanked his Master.
And Prancer was friends with old Comet,
a reindeer that went like a rocket;
no reindeer was quicker from Poland to Pinner
so Santa replied, ‘Son – you got it!’
Comet’s young cousin was Cupid;
to annoy him you just called him ‘stupid’.
‘Stupid, I’m not. I could outdo you lot,’
said Santa, ‘OK – Come on...prove it!’
Cupid – he sure weren’t no plonker,
and turned to his hoppo called Donner,
of Kebab, no relation – more a sporting sensation,
told Santa, ‘Good Sir – I’d be honoured.’
Said the reindeer, ‘There’s something is missing.
After Donner there has to be Blitzen,’
so they went the whole hog – the entire bloomin’ lot,
like a bat out of hell on a mission.
