THE CHOSEN ONES ( PART SIXTY NINE )

People had once more began to get on with their
lives.

Jonah and Gerth, had become new men, their mission
was to help as many people as they could. Eventually they joined up with Joshua, Arvid and
Jermiah, it was almost as if, there was something
in the air affecting them.

Four boulders of rock were erected, in memory of
the Crystal Ships. They were erected right below,
where the Ships had hovered. It became a Spiritual
place, where people came with gifts of flowers,
crystals and special stones, in honour of their
saviours from the skies.

In the future, rumours went around, of Gods from
the heavens, watching over them, that in times of
unrest, the gods would return.

Things seemed to be at peace.

But lurking in the dark shadows, of one of the
caves, was a man named Gregor, he was very happy
and proud of himself, he had managed to escape,
being captured by those futile men from the sky.

"One day I will return...once again to cause havoc
and destruction." he laughed an evil laugh, "Ha!
ha! haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

But that is another story.

Gosh, Jenny, this is a wonderful final chapter, tidying everthing up so effectively, and beautifully (love the idea of the four boulders in memory of the Crystal Ships)...but now there is Gregor to think about, a fly in the ointment, most definitely. I shall look forward to hearing about his adventures, and in the meantime, you should feel proud of yourself. The Chosen Ones was a challenge, that most of us would find difficult to rise to, but you have stuck at it, and produced some delightful stories and characters, that I shall remember for a long time to come;-) Tina

Yes an epic story. I agree with Tina that it is really very well done that you stuck to it- all 69 parts. This story reminds me a bit of a film from the 50's- or a serial rather. It was very cinematic- would make a good film. Thanks for all the good reads. I shall also remember this story for a long time. As you pointed out at another time there will always be an evil person to take over again and that is how you conclude this. ;)Pia

Ah, big sigh. Well, well, well. What can I say? First of all, congratulations on tackling such a lengthy project, sticking with it and carrying it out to the very end. Throughout the story there were many great characters who we all came to love and care about, which is what writing is all about. Your plot had many twists and turns that kept us on our toes and had us eagerly awaiting the next day's chapters. Like someone said earlier, it was like those old serials like Flash Gordon or something when they would end on a cliffhanger leaving audiences sweating over the hero's fate. You crafted those moments very well indeed. Sixty nine chapters? Who would've thought? How many words is that altogether? So very pleased for you. Wish I could do something similar. Maybe one day. I liked the way you broke it up into small bite-size chapters each day. It meant they could be read whenever I had a break in work or a spare five minutes. Others should take a leaf out of your book when posting long pieces that are part of an even longer story. Although it would be difficult to highlight individual chapters where editors may have given cherries, I think you deserve a lorry-load of cherries for the fact you have completed this project and kept the story moving along without any holes in the plot or characters being forgotten. Plus, you have given a lot of people, myself included, a lot of joy and inspiration. Thank you. You can put your feet up tonight knowing you have pulled something off that others can only dream about. Best of luck with future projects. Kevin ps loved that ending with Gregor.

Dear oldpesky, I am truely moved by your kind words, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed reading and getting involved with the characters. It's been a long journey, the story itself has almost taken over my day to day living, even the housework has taken a back seat, but who wants to do housework, when you can write. Well, Jenny - I'm here! I've finally read the whole story, all sixty nine amazing parts, and my, what a story it was! Honestly, I know a few others have said this already but this is one of the best stories I've ever read - so epic and cinematic that I feel as if I have just watched a full-length film! Your own spirituality and love of nature is woven into this beautifully, Jenny, and I can't congratulate you enough on seeing this through to the end - so glad you did, it was an absolute pleasure! :) Any plans for the sequel? Hope so! Loved it, all of it, I think you're amazingly imaginative, and turning Jonah around at the end shows just how compassionate you really are - a lesser soul would've just killed him off, I think you're wonderful for that! And the dedication to pinda was both touching and fitting - sure he would've loved where you took this story, and I'm sure you did him proud :) Well done, Jenny, will shut up now but I'm just so in love with this story and its characters that I just had to tell you, hope you are well and enjoying your weekend :) Thanks for a brilliant and unforgettable read! Dear Rachel, what can I say? you brought me to tears with your wonderful comments, I can hardly see what I'm typing. I'm such a sensitive nutcase and your words just moved me so much. You have been so kind and considerate, I really wish I could say yes, there is a sequal, but I'm afraid times are different since I started this story three years ago, for one I never had a computer and just wrote it for my own enjoyment and also I finished the story, before I actually put it on to ABC Tales, which helped, but it took me three years to write it. I don't know if I have the inclination to write some more, sometimes trying to continue a story, can go completely wrong, for instance I have every single book by Terry Brooks, that's over 22 books, I always loved his work, but his last book does tend to drag on, repeating stuff that I've already read in his other books, I would hate for that to happen with this one. May be sometime in the future, I will write some more, but for now I want to really thankyou again for all your words of support and for reading this story to the end. Hope you have a great weekend.
