Down ee'r in Zummerzet where the zider apples do
grow,we do pick them for the farmer and his name
is Joe.
He do give us some zider and money too. It be worth
picking those apples for old farmer Joe.
We do pick them from dusk till dawn, then on our
merry way we go.
Now Joe's a pig farmer, he also has some cows, grows wheat and corn and loves his sows.
When them there pigs starts to run about, the
farmers wife, she do scream and shout. Now I know
this sounds strange, being a farmers wife and all
that, but she prefers being with her cat.
She be happy in er kitchen surrounded by food, she
does a good fry up for the kids and for Joe.
When he comes home from them there fields all
knackered and tired, all he wants is to be by the
fire. Sometimes he comes home on his combine harvester, he's so hungry he even gets a starter.
He loves is steak and home made cake. He goes to
bed at half past eight.
He's up at four and out the door, feeding, milking,
collecting wheat and hay, for him its just another
long day, he would'nt have it any other way.
His wife do bring him a ploughmans lunch, home made
bread, a great chunk of cheese, home made pickle
that packs a punch. Then its back to work for the
rest of the day. "Oh there be nothing better than
making hay!"
