She tried for several minutes to wake him up.
Even going as far as to throw ice water in his face, but nothing worked.
She tried calling the ambulance again to see why they were taking so long.
Their response was,
"Because of the storm there are many trees down, and we have having trouble getting through.
Just hold on, and we will be there as soon as we can."
Elena decided she had no choice but to attempt to brave the storm again, even though her previous attempt was unsuccessful.
She was in such a panic that she didn't realize, if the ambulance can't get through, what makes her think that she will be able to.
She dragged Antanas into the back of her vehicle, and drove into the storm.

Mariya and Caelia were still in the waiting room.
Rayna was the type of person who never could sit still for long, and was up wandering the halls once more.
Mariya had fallen asleep again, and Caelia went looking for Rayna.
After a couple of minutes, she found her.
"What are you doing, Rayna?"
Caelia asked coldly
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm walking!"
Answered Rayna
"I mean, why are you not with your mother? She is really scared right now."
"I have been with her all night.
She's sleeping, and I got up to stretch my legs."
"No. You have not been with her at all.
You have the look 'I don't want to be here' written all over your face.
She needs you now more than ever."
"I don't know you, and you certainly don't know a thing about me. So, who the hell do you think you are acting like the good daughter. We don't need you here, so please go home."
"You're right. I don't know anything about you. You are nothing like what Maya described to me.
However, you are wrong about one thing, I am needed here.
Maybe not by you, but your mother needs someone here to comfort her, and it obviously is not you.
So, who does that leave?"
She then just walked away.
When she returned to the waiting room, she was surprised to see Mariya awake.
She looked at her strange, and mumbled,
"What was that all about?"
Caelia felt somewhat embarrassed that Mariya had witnessed her little outburst.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Alekseev, but it really bothers me the way she is acting. It's like she's bored, and doesn't even want to be here."
"I have noticed a difference in her behavior. It started around a week ago. Since Maya was taken into the hospital she has gotten worse.
She does seem like there is something more on her mind than Maya. I wonder what it is."
She got up off the green chair and started pacing the floor while saying,
"Rayna and Maya have always been very different. Maya is the more outgoing one. She has always had many friends and is an overall likable person.
However, she is not the Prima Donna type either. She is a kind person who loves to help with different events.
Rayna, what can I say about Rayna?
School has always been very important to her. She has always gotten good grades, as where Maya struggles.
She has big plans for her future. She wants to be a lawyer like her father. She has never been a sociable person at all, which can sometimes give people the impression that she is stuck up, but she’s not. You just have to get to know her."

Elena frantically drove as fast as she could down a dark, back alley.
It was a shortcut that she had taken many times.
After a few more shortcuts, she managed to make it onto the main road.
No other vehicle could be seen. It was still raining heavily.
She continued to shout at Antanas, silently praying that he would wake up.
She felt somewhat responsible. Maybe if she had tried harder earlier to get him to a hospital this would not have happened.
She tried calling the hospital to tell them that she was on her way with a man with a possibly serious concussion, but the phones were still out.

Caelia walked out of the building to call her father to let him know where she was.
"Don't bother with that. You won't get through."
Said Rayna sitting on a rain soaked bench.
A strange awkward feeling emerged.
"I'm sorry for what I said to you earlier. It's just that I never really had a mother, and I guess subconsciously I was trying to make your mother into mine, and it was wrong. I don't know you and I don't know your reasons.
Do you think we could start over?"
Asked Caelia
"Stop acting all nice to me just because my mother told you about me.
I do not want a friend. That is my sister. Don't get us confused."
Said Rayna
"Fine. I am sick of being nice to you. I can't believe a person like Maya could possibly be related to you."
Said a now angry Caelia
Rayna turned to her and with the look of pure rage in her eyes, punched Caelia.
She fell down into a large puddle.
She sat up, but felt too dizzy to stand.
Blood poured down her face into her right eye where Rayna's ring had got her.
Then, as suddenly as it had come on, the rage had disappeared.
Rayna gasps at what she had done. That was completely out of her character.
She had never been violent before.
"I am so sorry, Caelia. I don't know what came over me."
Stuttered Rayna as she offered her hand to Caelia.
She, however, wanted nothing more to do with her and got up on her own. Rayna feared that someone had seen the incident and would force her to leave the hospital, or worse, send her to jail for abuse.
Once back inside the hospital, a male nurse noticed Caelia's bloodied face, and offered to clean it out and bandage it for her.
She told him that she had fallen,. and hit her head.
Rayna could not believe what she had just done.
She had never lost control like that before, and feared that it would be a recurring thing.
She looked at the building across from her with its lights on.
It was dark, and it along with two or three street lights gave the area an unusual orange look.
There was no one else around, and Rayna felt completely alone.
However, she wasn't alone.
Someone was watching her from the shadows, planning their next move.
This was the moment they had been waiting for.
