A police officer was watching her.
He then turned on his sirens and began to follow her.
The music inside of Caelia’s car was so loud that she did not even hear them.
He followed her for seven minutes before driving beside her. It was only then that he finally got her attention.
“Damn it!”
Rayna shouted, and she slowed to a stop. She was nervous even though this was not the first time that this had happened to her.
“Hello, officer.”
Said Rayna with a smile in the hope that it would earn her some points with him.
He was around 6’4” and 275 lbs, with light brown hair. He was wearing sunglasses.
“What did I do?”
She asked while speaking like a little girl
“You were driving twenty-six miles over the speed limit. I am going to have to see your license and registration.”
He said.
Rayna quickly searched through the vehicle looking for the registration, but had no idea where Caelia put it.
She could not find it anywhere.
“Sorry, officer. This is my parents’ vehicle, and I don’t know where they keep it.”
She said while frantically searching. After four minutes, she finally found it. She handed it to him as she searched for her license.
She silently prayed that she brought it with her. The last thing she needed was to be arrested. Fortunately, she had it with her, and gave it to the officer. He then walked back to his vehicle. He was there for quite some time. Rayna was worried that Caelia had reported it stolen. She had her fingers crossed, even though she has never believed in luck. After more than ten minutes, the officer finally returned.
“I’m afraid I am going to have to write you a ticket, ma’am.”
He said.
That took a few more minutes.
He gave her back her license and registration, got back into his vehicle, and drove away. Rayna was happy that she was not sitting in the back of that vehicle, but was upset that she got another ticket.
“Mom and Dad are going to kill me when they find out about this.”
She said to herself while thinking of what happened the last time she got one.
They punished her for weeks. Worked her like a dog to pay it off.
“I guess I’ll just have to try harder to keep it from them.”
She said to herself while driving away.

John was again sitting at his desk bored. He had already looked through the case files multiple times, and there was nothing else to do. He knew he had orders to find the unnamed girl from earlier, but knew it was hopeless. The only thing left was to wait and hope for her to return. Just then, Moretti came running through the officer shouting,
“Let’s go! They’ve found another body.”
John got up, grabbed his jacket and ran to his vehicle.
He followed Moretti. They stopped at a secluded ravine.
As soon as the body was pulled out of the water it was obvious that it had been there awhile. It was a badly decomposed headless female. She was wrapped in what looked like a bed sheet, and there was blood all over it.
Forensic scientist were there searching every inch of the area for clues.
There were so many people there that John felt almost out of place.
Everyone had a job to do but him.
He started wandering to another area just west of where the victim was found. There was nothing around, so he was about to head back, when he saw something shiny in the bushes. He pulled it up with a pencil. It was a silver bracelet. Upon closer inspection, he noticed initials carved into it. They were ALJ. He called for someone to come take a look at it. This was a possible clue, so it was quickly bagged. More than three hours had passed, and most of the people had left. There were, however, three other men from Forensics still searching the area. Because the body had been there so long, most of the evidence was gone.
John looked at his watch, and realized that it was after 5:00 PM, and he promised his aunt that he would be at her house by then to pick up Adamo. He got back into his vehicle, and started driving there. Once he arrived there, he ran to the front door, and rang the doorbell. No one answered. He rang it again, but still nothing. He was out of breath. Finally, after several moments, she came to the door.
“You’re late!”
She shouted as she opened the door to let him in.
“I am sorry. It’s just that…”
“Save it! I have no need for excuses. You know I meet with the girl’s on Sunday evening. I have never been late before.”
She said while back looking for her keys.
“I haven’t seen you in years. How was I supposed to know that you still meet with them? I said I was sorry, but something important came up that required my immediate attention.”
Said John
“I told you to save your excuses. Now make sure that you call social services first thing in the morning. I have a doctor’s appointment, and I can’t take him with me.”
She said
John got Adamo, and left for the motel.

Rayna had driven so far that she was not even sure where she was.
She stopped off at a small boutique. After being in there only a few seconds, she knew that this was not the place for her. She walked next door to another shop. This one was sporting goods. Nope, still not what she was interested in. The last store that she walked in was a candy shop. She suddenly began to reminisce about her childhood. Her father used to take her to a place just like it every Saturday. Somewhere along the way, everything changed, and Rayna was no longer the sweet happy girl that she once was.
“Can I help you, miss?”
Said a man behind the counter.
Rayna was in her own little world, and did not hear him.
He asked a few more times before tapping her on the shoulder. It was then that she came back to earth.
“Are you all right, miss?”
He asked.
He was 5’6”, 225 lbs, with short white hair. He had on beige pants with a long sleeved white shirt, and a white apron over it with the words “Spencer’s Candy” written on it in red.
“Yes, I am fine.”
She answered, but was distracted by something she saw in the shop.
