The Angel's Silence 28

In the center of the left wall, was an oval image of something she had seen before.

Whatever it was, she didn't like it.

She began to feel very sick to her stomach.

The man at the front counter asked her if she was alright.

She knew that she had to leave the store immediately or she was going to be sick.

She didn't understand why the candy shop made her feel that way.

She left the shop, got back into Caelia's vehicle and drove away. Nine minutes later, she heard what sounded like a phone ringing, but it wasn't her ring.

"How odd!"

she thought to herself while continuing to drive. The ring continued until idiot Rayna finally realized that it was Caelia's phone in the bag that she took from her. She pulled over on the side of the road, and searched through Caelia's bag looking for the cell. On the Caller I.D. it said that the call was being made from the hospital. She thought it was probably Caelia wanting her to come back, so she ignored it until it stopped. As she was putting the phone away, she noticed four different bottles of pills, all in Caelia's name. They were medications that she had never heard of, so she didn't know what they were for.
She was, however, very curious.

John and Adamo were on their way back to the motel.

"How come Angela was nice this morning?"
Asked Adamo

"What do you mean? Was she mean to you while I was gone?"
Asked John

"Not at first, but after an hour or so she started yelling and slapping me."

This struck John as being very odd. She always remember his aunt Angela as being the sweetest, kindest person he knew.

This was completely out of character for her.

"Did she slap you hard?"
Asked John

"

Not really, but I don't want to go back there again tomorrow."
Said Adamo

"Well, you don't have to. I'll just have to find someplace else for you to stay tomorrow."
Said John

Caelia continued to repeatedly call Rayna, but she still refused to answer, until she realized that maybe she was calling to get her medication back. She eventually answered.

"Where are you, Rayna?"
Asked Caelia

"I just needed to get out and clear my head for a while."
Answered Rayna

"A while? You have been gone all day. I really need you to come back."
Said Caelia

"Why?"
Asked Rayna, knowing very well why

"I need my car back because I need to go home for a while. I'll come back here tomorrow. My father is getting worried about me."
Said Caelia

Rayna thought about this for a moment, and said,
"All right! I'm on my way."

She then turned around, and headed back to the much dreaded hospital.

Mariya was still driving to Ottimista hospital. It was quite far from Grazia Salvifica hospital. The sun was setting, which made Mariya nervous. She always hated driving at night. Antanas always drove then. This made her realize how much she would miss Antanas if something bad were to happen to him. Her mind was flooded with the memories of every stupid fight or argument they had ever gotten into. Antanas was a laid back kind of person, and Mariya was the nagging type. She felt so stupid, and silently vowed to herself to be a better person to him if he were to make it through this.

She was forced to take the long road when she had to turn around because of some road work going on. Elena also made her way into Mariya's mind. She wondered who she really was. She had a feeling that Elena was more to Antanas than just an old friend from school.

"Has he been cheating on me with this woman?"
She asked herself over and over again, hoping that the answer was "no" but she wasn't sure.
