Mr. Batali had to leave early, so Aaron left, and asked Adriana not to tell him.
Being in the store all alone scared her. She prayed for a customer, but no more showed up. She began thinking about the letter. The thought would not leave her mind for a second. It was now completely dark out.
***
Eveleen's curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to open up Adriana's letter.
***
She was locking up the store, when she saw a man staring at her from the other side of a window.
He was carrying a gun.
------------------------
Her heart was pounding.
He pounded on the door to let him in. She refused, which turned out to be a mistake, when she shot right through the glass door, and unlocked it.
"Put the money in the bag!"
He shouted.
She walked over to the cash register, but did not know how to operate it. It was only her second day, and she stocks shelves.
"Uhh, I'm not sure how to open this."
She said softly to the man.
He frowned at her.
"Well, you better learn how real fast or I'll be forced to open it myself, and if that happens you won't be around to watch me."
Adriana tried opening it, while the man grabbed as much stuff off the counters as he could carry.
"This is not how this happens on television."
She thought to herself while still struggling to figure out how to open it."
"Hurry up, I don't have all day."
He shouted.
"I'm trying."
She shouted in response.
Just then, a dark memory clouded her head. She tried desperately to think of something else, but the thought was too powerful.
At that moment, a feeling of bravery came over her, and suddenly she got the idea to fight him off herself.
When he had his back turned,
(Idiot!)
She hit him over the head with something, and he passed out.
She called the police, but because it is such a small town there are few officers, and they are always busy.
She waited for what seemed like forever, when she felt the man place one hand over her mouth, and the other was around her waist.
"Make one sound, and I will shoot you."
He whispered.
She tried to take the gun away from him, when he shot her in the side.
Just then, the police were at the door, knocking.
She blinked her eyes, and the man was gone, her wound had healed and the door that the man had shot had somehow repaired itself.
Two officers stood at the door waiting for her to open it.
She felt stupid having to tell them that none of it had happened, that she had imaged it all.
They looked at her as if she was lying, and searched the building, but there was no sign of anyone else.

Eveleen opened up the letter, and it read...
My Dearest, Adriana.
It has been so long since I have seen you. I miss you dearly.
How have you been?
You never write to me, how come?
I would really like to see you again. We should get together, and talk about old times.
We used to have so much fun together, remember?
Please reply.
I miss you so much.
Love Always,
Il tuo Scuro Principe.
I wonder who this Scuro Principe is.
Adriana has never mentioned anything about him before.
I hope she does not get angry with me for opening this.
I wonder if I can seal this to where she will not know.

"Is this some kind of joke?"
One of the officers asked her.
"Do you realize how busy we are?"
Adriana did not know what to say. She was certain that what she saw was real. How can she even begin to explain what had happened?
Fortunately, the officers were called to a different location, and had to leave.
She was humiliated.
"I must be losing my mind."
She thought to herself while sweeping the floor.
It was now a few hours later, and time to go home.
Adriana got in her car and drove home.
As usual, she felt strange as soon as she passed the creepy black house.
As soon as she got home, Alberto and Eveleen began giving her a long list of things that she had to do. She wanted to start yelling about it, but did not have the strength to. It was her turn to do the laundry, and several other chores. In addition, the next day she had to buy groceries.
Eveleen was in the middle of making supper when she realized that she needed two eggs. There were none in the house, and not enough time to drive to the store. Therefore, she decided to walk across the street, and ask the neighbors if they had any.
As soon as she stepped foot on their door step she felt a strange feeling come over her. She knocked on the door several times, but no one answered. She was just about to leave when the door opened by itself. She barely moved her body through the door, while saying,
"Hello? Is anybody home? It's Eveleen from across the street."
She now stood in the house, which oddly looked very different than it did the last time she was there. The few pieces of furniture that was there then, was now gone. The house smelled of Incense. There was an almost suffocating feel to it.
She was about to leave when someone touched her on the shoulder. She turned around quite frightened. It was Sophie.
Eveleen sighed in relief.
"You scared me."
Sophie looked at her strangely while saying,
"What are you doing here?"
Eveleen looked at her in confusion.
"I just wanted to know if I could borrow a few eggs? I will return them tomorrow."
Sophie ran into the kitchen, got the eggs, handed them to Eveleen, and said,
"You really shouldn't be here."
She practically shoved her out of the house.
Eveleen was dumbfounded.
She quickly returned home.
She continued cooking, but when she cracked the eggs, the insides were black.
"What is this?"
She thought to herself. The whole meal was ruined, and it was too late to make a new one.
Alberto just arrived home from work. He did not really believe what Eveleen was saying, but agreed to go out to eat at a restaurant. Everyone got ready and left to Il Miglior Posto restaurant.
As they were all exiting the vehicle, Adriana felt very dizzy, and had not had caught her.
"Adriana, what's wrong?"
Asked Eveleen.
"Nothing. I'm just a little dizzy."
Responded Adriana.
Eveleen was concerned, but did not want to make her upset. Therefore, she just dropped the subject, but it never left her mind.
They were seated, and were scanning the menu, when Adriana looked to her left and saw Aaron there with a woman. She appeared to be around the same age as him, maybe younger.
Adriana just knew that it must be a girlfriend, and was quite did not want him as a boyfriend yet, but liked knowing that the opportunity was there.
That pretty much made the already bad day much worse.
"I keep covering for him, and doing his work so he could go on a date?"
She said to herself.
A few minutes later, he got up and was walking out of the restaurant with the girl. Adriana did not want to be seen, so she put the menu in front of her face. He did not even notice her.
Everyone except for Adriana was enjoying the meal. She was too upset over everything that had happened that day to eat. Plus, she still did not feel well.
Everything was quiet, when out of nowhere Alberto started shouting at Eveleen.
She jumped up. He forcefully rubbed his hand on her shoulder.
"What are you doing?"
She asked in confusion.
He pointed to the floor, and there crawling was a tarantula.
