some through the heart
not actually perforate.
No jaws hover by needles.
More sentimental,
a rose dying by lamplight.

There are different ways of wearing it
a pin broach
a pashmina
an offering to the gods of buildings built of your own.

There are different ways it dawns.
Slow wake remembering.
Cigarettes in yards.
Cushion footsteps in footpaths.

The sky carries on with great regard.
The grass will grow.
Tomorrow is another.
Everything is reason.
