The day without yesterday

Conceived by common sense
And born into the wind
Blown through the textures
And discrepancies of life
Through restless leaves
And anxious minds
It grew
It became a feeling
Which kissed the mountain tops
And danced, unknowingly, across our cheeks
Flirting with intrinsic knowledge
It became a whisper
With violently tender words
Billowing through open plains
And rattling delicate window panes
Inhaled by the lungs of every bird in the sky
And exhaled as a melody
A song
Soft and sweet with savage might
With an unimaginable
Undeniable truth
Try as it may
With the vigor of creation itself
It could not penetrate our clenched fists
Protecting ears so desperate to know
That in all of the complication of today
There was a day
That shook with inconceivable force
From the greatest depths of the unknown
Which forged, with innocent intention
Existence
And on this day
There was no yesterday
Only the overwhelmingly simple truth
Of nothing
