The Culturally Incoherent Economy 1

The current mood in America seems to be to blame the top 1% for everything, and, at the same time, people are so awed by the power of the top 1% that they are not sure how to punish the top 1%.
Deregulation of human behavior seems to be the main cause of the economic debacle and if that is so, almost everyone is to be blamed. And many of us, if we were in the shoes of the top 1%, I think, would have done the same thing they did.
I think about what I was doing during the time when I was making good money. I was drinking, taking many vacations, and thinking that I had it made. At the same time, I was talking to people about what was going on in the economy.
I spoke to certain employees of Home Depot. I like the store very much and the managers were into deregulation. This seems to have meant the absolute authority of the manager of Home Depot and almost no control over his or her actions. If someone tried to control the manager's actions, there would be numerous accusations of harassment or otherwise. Many of these managers knew how to boost up numbers or move products from one store to another. Home Depot has changed the way it does business now, but such practices must have made some of these managers moderately wealthy.
I suppose as long as you produced the results, there was really no check on how you got those results or whether the results actually reflected financial gain.
But, on a smaller scale, is this any different from what Madoff did? Although you could say that Madoff was much worse, but if the manager did not get caught or was not fired and moved up and up and became more and more crooked... I really wonder sometimes.
Even more than such small crimes, what really puzzled me about the liberals in power is, "What is their economic plan?" Already businesses are cutting down on employees to ready themselves for the wage increase. There's basically no customer service more or less even at slightly nicer restaurants. At this rate, there will be little or no difference between the internet market and the retail market. The internet will win... is already winning. Liberals, in a curious way, treat foreigners better than Americans. They are making a desperate grab at the working class with this wage increase. But I really don't know. Some retail environments really resemble a Friends Episode or a Seinfeld Episode. Even for foreigners or domesticated foreigners, it's really hard to imagine any new start up businesses with rising wages and no bank loans.
Liberals define a workable wage as a wage that a person can live a life with. With the cheapened value of money and the very increasing number of needs... would a liberal politician define a workable wage as what he or she makes as a politician?
Of course, the best solution to food shortage crisis is cannibalism. There are plenty of dead bodies that have not decomposed yet. Human flesh supposely tastes like a pig. Just close your eyes and dig in. Food prices are ever increasing. The Chinese solution to this is to grow their own farms, I find this eminently pragmatic. Meat prices will double in a few years.
I find that all I need these days is my family and a small condo. I find myself losing touch with those around me. You know, in a sense, I can identify with the liberals. These Americans want it all. Then again, so do the minorities. They are the children of the babyboomer generation that spoiled their kids like hell and promised them heaven. I cannot imagine what the life of an illegal alien must be like. It must be Kafka-esque.
That's what liberals like. They want to act like a savior and then get some hot woman on the side. They are the savior of the minorities. Their own wives are so nagging that they become social butterflies....
