Currently In America

I will try to avoid generalizations as much as possible, but some generalizations will be unavoidable. America, in 2014, is not a terrible place to live. There are alot of good things in America. One is youthful exuberance. America always bounced back. It goes through tough times, but bounces back.
Another is the respect for nature that I see in America. I am mainly talking about the fishermen I speak to when I go fishing. Many Americans respect the fish, do not go chumming, and release many fish that they catch. When you respect nature, nature gives to you some of her secrets.
When I visited South Korea, there was a very curious relationship with nature. Many Korean mothers are always trying to shape the nature of their sons and daughters, mostly unsuccessfully. There is something alchemical about this.... trying to create gold out of bronze. Back to America.
When I listen to NPR, liberals are trying to paint Barack Obama like he is some kind of FDR or something. Frederick Delanor Roosevelt would have found our current debt relationship with China horrifying. So would have Kennedy.
The liberals also say that the national debt has been greatly reduced. I find this "fact" very difficult to believe. On Obama's watch, the national security agency has been greatly expanded to keep watch on the internet behavior of most Americans. Internet corporations and high tech businesses have done very well. BUT most of Obama's environmental and energy-efficient projects have been dismal failures. As for his relationship with China, I don't think it would be unfair to say that the Chinese leadership probably thinks he's a naive idiot. It's a very curious relationship we have with China. The debt from China is partially supporting our social security and medicare programs. The Chinese care more about America than the rich people in America who don't want to support those programs. Somehow, the Chinese believe in the strength of the US economy. Also, the US has engaged in 3 wars under Obama's watch although they are not technically wars. The US was involved by sending weapons, bombing strategic targets, sending money, and taking in refugees. Now, our tax amounts have remained pretty much the same or close to same. Then how were we able to pay back to China so much of our debt while doing all these things?
Liberals... I really do not know what the terms liberal means. I suppose it means that they do not have an economic basis for reality. Liberals stress lifestyle choices. You can live any way you please. Just keep it moderate. Don't do anything extreme. Don't try to change the status quo. BUT when you really look at the basis of class, and here, I am following Michael Porter, at the basis of it is economics. If you have a uniquely, differentiated product like Prada and you have specialized production centers in your own country and there is a very high margin, you can afford to have a very leisurely, European lifestyle focusing on family, relationships, and politics. Politics with China may not matter all that much. But you wonder if this can continue indefinately in Europe.
Liberals also tend not to talk about unlimited differentiation of a subculture like homosexuality. They tolerate homosexuality. "Tolerate" itself is a condescending word. What right do they have to tolerate homosexuality? Who made them God? I say that homosexuals have an existential right to exist, but I do not think it is good to have an unlimited differentiation of homosexuals. Some homosexuals are blatantly silly, obnoxious, steal from people with no consequence, some homosexuals make a joke of society because society has made a joke of them, and this kind of overlaying "campiness" in homosexual culture makes homosexuals look rather cartoonish, unreal as if they are just actors on a stage.
