the cat has nine lives and so do some women's faces. women reinvent themselves, revirginate themselves, women seem to be capable of infinite change at least on the superficial level. they can facade to please a man and then get what they want. men are easily fooled. some women can destroy themselves, hit rock bottom and out of those dead stones come new life and they have a second life. they change their hairstyle and sometimes even their name and live new lives with a new boyfriend in a new state. somewhere in a women's psyche is the infinite contempt for the hypocrisy of us men. the cat has nine lives and a woman's former life or rather earlier life feeds the new life of the woman who has changed, morphed, been reinvented. Her face is a facade. her inner life a mystery... but in America, there are absolutely no rituals of sorrow or pain. we usually just try to drink it or drug it away. it is emotionalized pain that creates eroticism.... and she hides it and lives her life.

Again I find that you wave written a piece that trivialises women.  This writing is sententious.  It is underpinned by shallow generalisations and frankly borders on reiterating the sentiments of dated sexism.  Many reading this whether male or female will be offended by it.

Scratch, I understand your concerns. I try to write what I see in the life around me. I understand that I can be affected by stereotypes of women coming from my archetypes and from the media and movies, but I have to write what is in my mind. In time, I will understand women better. Hollywood is also accused of stereotyping, but those must be explored first before we come to the more real images of women. Thank you for your concern, and I will take your advice in hand.

Exactly what is your image of women? Is there just one idea of women that encompasses all the diverse women in the world? I don't think that you are submitting to some political correct idea of women, are you? In the Daily Show, there was an Asian academic supporting the idea of a politically correct "pornography." Pornography with no nature, no sexual power dynamics. Is that what you mean? Downtown Abbey, an excellent English TV show, shows upperclass men and women leading their leisure lives while they are in debt. One upperclass woman makes sniping comments about America. Don't you think that capitalism trivializes women, objectives women, and gives women a price tag? Upperclass women are corseted and private, warriors for their husbands if they believe in them, taking social occasions as business opportunities. Picasso paints these upperclass women very well. Then all the repressed emotions pop up and then they are rejuvenated through a tearful meltdown which they do in private. Workingclass women are warriors too, taking care of the children while the husband is away, drinking with friends or enemies. What I am portraying is women who are losing their souls. They are so involved in the political and public fight that their souls are being lost. We have become an intensely superficial society as a whole.
