"That's horrible. Why didn't they tell me this?" Jason asked, "I paid a billion dollars to be comatose for one day out of seven?"

"That's where I come in, Jason," Francis inserted, "and the Egg."

"Is this some kind of a joke?" Jason asked, "What does the Egg have to do with anything?"

"Jason... instead of going into a comatose state, you need to have deep, fulfilling sex with me in the Egg... so much so that I eat you."

Jason stared into Francis's eyes and then laughed.
"I'm a homosexual."

"For all eternity?"

"Why with you?"

"I am the only female to be made into an immortal."

"Why is that?"

"My father didn't want to make any other females immortal after my failure."

"Why must I be eaten by you?"

"So that your consciousness can reconstruct itself?"

"I don't understand."

"Every seven days, your consciousness goes into an inert state that causes the comatose state. You are reborn every seven days."

"How do I remember anything from before the seven days?"

"You simply do through the dream."

"What'll happen to the other immortals?"

"I don't care. I've already destroyed all the files and destroyed REGENESIS."

"So I have to be a heterosexual for one day out of seven?"

"Yes."

"Why did you choose me?"
