woke up at 6. Tired. Worked yesterday. Had a few drinks over the weekend. Drinking makes my body tired but it helps relieve the stress.
so much work to be done, so little time. reminds of t.s. eliot. there will be time, there will be time, time to say hi. time to say bye. gotta take care of the kids today. wild bunch.
was thinking about US. it really suffers from a dumbing down. americans in general are not very intelligent. Many more intelligent people in asia and Europe, but the elites in America are very intelligent, the most intelligent. also, many of the most intelligent people in Europe moved to the US after or before World War II. intelligent Asians moved to the US to escape their poor and static countries. Some Asians are thinking of moving back or already have moved back. Many Chinese come to the US to be educated but work in China.
I don't understand the US response to the economic wars that East Asia (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan (although not technically East Asia), etc.) is constantly waging on the US. The US looks like such a coward. No response. Every time someone like Lloyd Benson or Iaccoca mentions it, they are shouted down. Intelligent people can be fucking stupid. or they are unwilling to face the current situation.
the thing is that all the piracy of intellectual property, the creation of substitute, almost identical looking products to destroy the profit possibilities of American corporations is really based on the idea that there is no "individuality." if there is no individuality, then there is no unique product. and history, according to the Marxists, is just created and progressed through class warfare so they are engaging in a class warfare against elite, premium products like Apple. at the same time, the east Asians envy western individuality and romanticism... emotional intimacy... and buy up the elite, premium goods from Europe and America because they deserve it after working so hard.
on tv, people are always taking tough about industrial espionage from china but nothing effective is really being done. the war on drugs (which is effectively a war against Hispanics and Blacks) and the war on terrorism (which is an overreaching war of attrition on most arabs or at least perceived that way by arabs) is much more of a priority. But we live in an age when economic leaders can exert the most control of the government. why don't they influence the government to engage in an economic war with east asia and the absurd trade inbalance between America and these countries. Is it all about debt and the interest rate.
economic leaders like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and even Rock singers like Bono are betting on Africa along with Nicholas Krystof. They are donating a lot of money to Africa and helping build roads etc. but spoonfeeding Africa is not the best way to build the economies in Africa. there have to be dedicated group of people who are willing to spend a good 50 years there, seeing through processes, etc. and the US won't do that. the US goes in, the US goes out.
so why do I care about these things? i don't know. i don't particularly and today i have to go to celebration recovery. i have to do so many things. i always am behind. so little time.
