ACTION!
Leave me alone.
You always want to be left alone. God does not leave you alone. God never deserts you,
Why did I have to marry a Catholic?
You ingrate!
I hate my life. Where is my mother? She'll get me out of this.
CUT.
It's too flat. the dialogue is too flat. I need you to improv a little.
I hate acting. (Roman Lee)
Me too. (Deborah)
Roman looks into Deborah's eyes and then kisses her. They can't see anything around them. They are completely in their own little bubble.
Roman acts like Hamlet.
"Doubt Thou the stars are fire? Doubt Thou the Sun Doth Move?"
"I doubt nothing."
"I love you better than twice-fired souls."
"More to engine our mold into desire."
Roman loved Deborah. She was all that he could see. Perhaps that's why he couldn't act. Lovers are such bad actors, kissing the day and night away and creating their own littelchatterature which no one else understands. Deborah, queen bee. the limits of the diaphane. the things you are about to see. he hated this script. who wrote this rubbish. more than anything, he wanted to be rid of this mortal flesh which was giving him nightmares. his nerves were bad and he had been drinking all night.
