Walden Pond, 08.31.2014

the waters run like steeds
melifluous pleats dwelling on the surface...
i remember
On Golden Pond when
a net of stars dawned on the waters
aquamarine...
no one looks happy
looks like the Puritans have won all the contests,
you have to give it to them...
they are so powerful in wanting
everyone to speak the same language
cutting out eros from language
and being very democratic, hey
even i
find myself agreeing with them.
the New England attitude...
nothing can ever go right
may as well enjoy the chaos,
i love chaos
i live in the throes of chaos,
kayaks and fishermen
in the lovely weather
slightly humid and i can't tell the difference
between koreans and americans
and why they hate each other
they're so same same same
always wanting the best things
constantly envying others,
puritan as a bone...
in Thoreau I find my mission statement:
I want to live life deliberately,
suck the marrows of life
and reduce life to its most basic terms.
there are stone sculptures in the water,
my son is obsessed with catching bluegills with his hands
and the pleats of the waters, so swellingly complete,
tone deaf new englanders,
only violence and dark tales quell them.
i'm enjoying the sandy beach at Walden Pond
and the hike
i can almost sense Thoreau's spirit...
vision quest is over.
