Lament

He softly pursued her long soft auburn hair,
big blue eyes and fair voice shed hardly spoken.
The full moon above glowed brightly he confessed no crime other than having admired her.
Together they listened to the night sky change from light to dark. No shadows noted, no flames foretold. Just passing moments in time of lament
and calm.
Secrets shared, joys fulfilled they harmed noone
and yet their hearts felt guilt and betrayal.
The orange edge of the mooonlit sky crept near
the blue, they inhaled as one and together for a brief moment that seemed to last forever united they tasted.
Her beauty shone and with the moon now at the back of her head the words bubbling in the narrow of her throat she whispered....
"the less you have, the less you want"
