Pub garden

sitting on a chair in a pub garden by the riverside
sitting here watching all the boats sail by
it is such a hot day as I sit here under the shade
slipping at my ice-cold orange juice
seeing kids play in the pub garden
on the swings and down the slide
mother with babe in arms helping their little one down the slide
oh the sound of their laugher
is so great
watching the bird around playing on the ground
one sounds and they rush up to the trees
and i hear a bumblebee oh I hope it doesn't sting me
see it dancing in and out of the flowers
flying back home there making honey for my tea
and the ducks on the water swimming by
oh how life is at peace
and there a gentle breeze on my face
oh soon it will be time to go back home
the sun is being to sleep
it neither dusk nor dark
just that magical time of day
children are going home
the play park is almost empty
car door are being banged and
cars are going on their way
now its time for me to go
my home is five minutes away
and when i am home
and by my warm fire
i can remember this day
when i was sat in a pub garden
watching the world go by
