Too Late

Its those moments at the end
When the realisation hits
That it is too damn late to do what is right
To do what you have wanted to do for years
My stubborness, my pig headedness, my shear bloody ignorance preventing it from happening
Only in the end do you realise just how stupid you were and realise what you have missed in the years that have passed
I can look around for blame, a reason to excuse myself
My father perhaps, my mother, but they did the best they could
You see in the end when its just too damn late to say the things you have been longing to say you realise that those missed chances, those lost opportunities were no-one elses fault but your own and the truly sad thing is that you allowed it to go on for far too long that when the end comes its far too damn late to do anything about it.
How sad is that. The moral is dont waste a second of your life, do it now, not tomorrow for tomorrow may never come. Leave the table with a full belly and be thankful. Its better to die with a clear conscience than to die in regret.
