Bed in breakfast,
My daughter at my side
And then she whispers to me,
"Mommy, why do people die?"
I didn't know what to say,
all I could do was cry.
And shee took my hand in hers,
"Mommy it will all be fine."
"Mommy has to leave,
and go to another place."
I gently say,
wiping off my face.
"Where are you going, Mommy?" she asks,
Her eyes filling with tears.
"I am going to Heaven,
it's a place not too far from here."
I say, And I lay my hand on her leg,
"You see, you find it in your heart, whenever you pray.
It's where Jesus lives,
And where I'm going to stay."
She closed her little fingers around my own,
"But I don't want you to go."
"I have no choice, sweet angel, I have to leave."
I say, and I lean over and kiss my dear little Sadie.
"How can I talk to you?" she asked,
Her big blue eyes looking my way.
"Just use your heart, I will hear you."
I gently say.
She leans in close to me,
"Is Daddy going too?"
"No," I smile a little,
"He's staying here with you."
"Why are you going, Mommy?"
She asked so sweet and sencere
"I have a thing called cancer
That only God can cure."
"So your going there forever?"
She sighed and I knew she understood
"Yes, and I'll be waiting there
For you to come when you should."
"Will you talk back to me, Mommy?
When I pray within my heart?"
I smile and lean closer,
"Yes, I will be hard to hear since we are apart."
She sat there and ate with me
With Heaven on her mind
And when I went I went peacefully
Because it was my time
