The two puppets were ‘in bed’ in their travel case. They had just learnt that Ted’s children, Mario and Becky, would be taking over as their puppet masters.
“It'll be strange with a woman's hand up my bum,” said Finchley.
“No stranger than a man's hand up your bum,” said Gimlet.
“I suppose. I'm just used to it being a man.”
“Your voice will change as well, of course,” said Gimlet.
“At least the kids will be able to distinguish us. Towards the end we started to sound the same. we both sounded like Ted,” said Finchley.
“Yes, I noticed that. And sometimes I'd have your voice and you'd have mine.”
“It'll be different without Ted.”
“Different can be good though.”
“Different is usually a good thing. Ted was always keen for us to try new routines and sketches.“
“Well you’ll be a woman from now on,” said Gimlet. “You don’t get much more different than that.
