“Do you think they’ll want us to perform?” said Finchley.
“Will who want us to perform?” said Gimlet.
“You know, at the funeral. Ted’s funeral.”
“I wouldn’t think so,” said Gimlet. “It would be disrespectful, it would be as if we were saying we could carry on without him.”
“Oh, I didn’t think of that. What was that word, despectacled.”
“Something like that, though of course you’d need your glasses if you were going to read a speech.”
“I would. I’m not sure what the public would think of that.”
“You wore them for the Shakespeare sketch. When you were planning to go to university.”
“I gave up all plans for academia for the act, said Finchley. ”I decided to focus on my career."
“Just as well," said Gimlet. "They can be very disrespectful to alligators at universities.”
