Island Hideaway 22 - Eye Opener

She opened her right eye a fraction. Not enough to see through, more as if testing whether she was alive or dead. If I hadn't been watching closely I would never have seen it.
"You're with me," I said. "Terrence," I added, in case she didn’t recognise me.
I realised that she probably had no idea where she was, she'd been in a coma when she was brought here, and before that I hadn't seen her for several years. "You're on my island. Eddie brought you."
There was no reaction. The eyes remained stubbornly shut, but I was certain of what I had seen. She was back with us. She was alive.
