Satan’s House

“There are something’s in this world that we don’t understand, Mr. Lancet.”
“I know that, but I’m guess that’s not the reason why you brought me here.”
“Ah, you’re a smart man. I can see now why they chose you.”
“They? Who the hell are you, and where the hell am I?”
“I’m glad you mentioned hell, Mr. Lancet, because that’s pretty much our topic.”
“What!?”
“Do you recognize this.”
The man hidden in the dark on the other side of the room slides a thick black book toward Lancet. The book is all black it some and has some bold letters written in white on it. In the middle of a book is a goat head, with an upside down pentagram on it. He runs his hands, through his long brown hair, examining every inch of it. A memory is quickly place inside of his head of where he has seen this before. He remembers seeing it at school, but that wasn’t the only place he saw it. He has seen it somewhere else too, but where…?
“I know it’s some sort of bible.”
Lance said staring back into the darkness, where the man would be sitting.
“Mr. Lancet-”
“Please, call me Lance.”
The man in the darkness clears his throat saying,” Lance, this is no ordinary bible. This is the satanic bible.”
Lance quickly stands up out of his chair, placing his hands on top of the table.
“What the hell are you people some sort of satanic cult?!”
“No, and please keep your voice down. Actually, we are quite the opposite. Now please sit down and I will gladly show you what we are.”
Lance pulls his chair back up to the table, sitting back down in it.
“Lance I know where you have seen this book before. Not only have you seen this book around your school from some of the cultist, but you actually looked into this religion before. To be honest that’s where we found you. You were in the back streets looking for some sort of get away. We needed someone with hands on experience that’s why you have been chosen.”
“None of this makes any sense to me. I don’t recall ever being in the back streets, looking for some sort of…get away…hell, I never did believe in religion.”
“You don’t remember anything, because we erased your memory.”
“Why the hell would you do that!?”
“Because if we didn’t you might have still wanted to join. It’s better this way.”
“What about my other memories did you mess with them too!?”
“No, just that one.”
“I don’t want anything to do with you, or your whatever organization your with!”
Lance yells, knocking the bible off the table, and getting out of his chair knocking it over. He quickly walks away from the table, into the other dark part of the room. He hears the man in the darkness stand up out of his chair, due to how squeaky his chair is.
“You can’t run Lance. We know where you live, what your social security number is, and your license plate number. You can’t escape us; let alone you can’t escape this room. There’s one way in and one way out.”
“What do you want from me?”
Lance asked in a show me pity type of tone.
“To be honest Lance it’s very simple. If you would have cooperated earlier we could have gotten to the point by now.”
The man said, reaching down, and touching Lance on shoulder almost as a father would do his child. Lance looked up into the darkness; once again it was no use. He couldn’t see any part of the man besides his hand. The room was so dark he was lucky to see that part of the man. He was really surprised at how earlier he could make out the features on the bible.
“Stand up, boy.”
The man said reaching out his hand to help Lance stand. Once Lance was to his feet the man began talking again.
“Now, let’s see where was I before we had that little outburst. Oh yes, Lance do you believe in evil…?”
“Evil? Of course I do it’s around us every day. How can one not believe in it?”
“That’s good we are making some progress. Then, what I’m about to show you wont seem so messed up then.”
The man made his way to the front of the square room. He reached into his pocket pulling out a remote control. He pressed down on one of the buttons in the center of the remote, or at least that’s what Lance could see. He was surprised that he could even see the remote in the man’s hands.
Sure enough Lance knew it was a remote control, because the center of the room was moving upward exposing another part of the room. Lance slowly made his way to the huge window at the end of the room. He looked over his shoulder at the man that was in the room, trying to get a glimpse of him. But needless to say that was useless. The man had stepped back into the darkness, so the light from the other room wouldn’t expose his identity.
The other room was set up like a laboratory. It had computers connected to one another sitting on almost ever end of the floor. The floor, walls, and ceiling were all painted grey. The only thing that really set this lab different from any other that Lance has seen was the giant container in the middle of the room. He was shocked that the lab was even tall enough to support how big this thing was. The only thing he remembers seeing that big was the twin towers. And, those sure weren’t around anymore. Another thing that really caught Lance’s attention was what was in the giant container. Sure enough, it was some sort of…creature. He rubbed his eyes out of disbelief; this wasn’t something that you saw every day. The creature had scaly red skin, which had a tint of black in it. He was also almost certain that the creature had wings, but they were tucked away. Up top of the head of the creature were long horns. The horns reminded him of goat horns, how they sort of curled under, and tucked behind the creatures head. Outside of the tube the creature was in were men in army uniforms, mixed in with scientist.
Many thoughts were ravaging through Lance’s head. Most of them thought he stepped into some science project that was about to go wrong.
“What the hell is that thing!? And, are you with the military?!” Lance asked the man who stood behind him in darkness.
“Just watch my friend.”
Lance was doing just that, but he was really getting sick of not getting any questions answered by whoever this man was. He looked down at the creature in the tube. He felt like he was in some sort of horror movie, or the twilight zone.
This isn’t real, this isn’t real, this isn’t real.l He kept telling himself over and over in his head. But the more he said this to himself, the more he wasn’t starting to believe himself. He had no other choice, but to watch as the creature remained trapped in the tube. One of the scientists pulled a switch on one the computers, causing the tube to fill up with green gas.
“What the hell are you doing to it?” Lance asked, but the man didn’t responded. He knew that, that meant for him to just shut up, and watch. The creature started fanning its arms across its face, almost as if he was trying to breath. Shortly after, the creature titled his head up, letting out a growl, exposing its sharp like teeth. That’s when the scientist pulled another leveler on the computer; this sent out an electric charge through the creature’s body.
The creature was pissed it started banging on the tube, trying to break free from the glass, but it had no effect what so ever on the glass. The man standing in the darkness let out an angry sigh, but he didn’t say anything after that. At the blink of an eye the creature was shrank down to normal size. Lance’s eyes got real big out of shock; he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“Now, Lance if you would excuse me. I think there is one more part of the process you must see.”
Lance raised his eyebrow out of curiosity, but he didn’t take his eyes off the window, or the creature. He as rather amazed at how the creature just shrank down to size like that. Behind him he heard the man scuffling around for something, but he didn’t let it bug his concentration. He had to keep his eyes on the creature and the scientist. Lance also wished the window wasn’t sound proof so he could what the scientist would say. The man in the darkness placed his hand on lance’s shoulder.
“It’s time to go, Lance; time to show you what we really do.”
Lance was rather confused by this, but before he could object, or even agree the man grabbed Lance by his shirt, dragging him off deeper into the darkness. Lance had no other choice, but to follow the man. It was either follow him or fall. Even if he fell he figured the man wouldn’t let go of his shirt either way.
There was a lot of walking before they reached a few stairs. When they arrived at the bottom of the stairs, the man opened a door, exposing some light. Lance squinted as his eyes adjusted to the light from the other room. He looked around at his surroundings to; being shocked that he was down in the lab. He looked at the man that had him by his shirt. Finally, he was able to see some of the man’s identity. But still yet there wasn’t much to see. The man had a silk like mask over his head, standing about six feet tall, and wearing an all black suit. The only skin that was revealed of the man was his hands. Lance found this rather odd; he didn’t know why the man would even consider doing something like this. In the other man’s hand was a weird looking gun. Before Lance could ask any question he pushed forward, into a circle of army soldiers, and scientist.
“What is it you people wa-“
“SHUT UP, BOY!” The man with the black mask over his head interrupted Lance before he was able to finish his sentence. Lance looked at the man with the black mask over his head, not saying anything.
“Release it.” The man with mask over his head said. Lance’s was in shock and quickly tried to flee the area, but the soldiers, and scientist stopped him from leave the circle. One of the scientists reached behind him, flicking the switch up, causing the tube to be lifted up. In a blink of an eye the creature was released, jumping onto one of the soldiers. The soldier screamed out of fear and fought to try an break free of the creature, but the creature was stronger then the man.
“Are you all going to let him die like this!?” Lance yelled at everyone, looking around at all of them. About that time the man in the mask turned his head, aiming the gun, and firing at the beast. The bullet went into the creature’s skin, but it didn’t seem to harm the creature. A second later everyone in the circle ducked down, covering up there heads. Lance decided to do the same thing. As he crouched down the creature exploded on top of the man. Some of the creature’s organs flew on the man, as well as some of its red and black scaly skin. Blood splattered on a few soldiers and Lance.
Lance was the first one to get back up and wipe himself off, from the creature’s blood.
“Does some body want to tell me what the hell is going on? And, what the hell that thing was?!”
“All this and you still don’t understand.” The man with the mask over his head said, lowering his gun down to his side.
“I understand that all of you are nut jobs. Now let me the hell out of here.”
Lance tried to escape through the circle of men, but no one out of the circle let him go.
“Are you sure he’s the one? He acts too much like one of the civilians.” One of the scientists out of the group said, crossing his arms across his chest.
“No, this one is the one. Even if he does act like one of them, we have to train him to get him to know what he’s dealing with.”
“Stop talking about me like I’m not here! Now tell me what the hell that creature was!”
The man in the mask stepped forward out of the circle, getting closer to Lance.
“What you just saw was a demon straight from hell.”
“What?! Okay, now this is to damn weird for me.”
“Look you said yourself that you believed in evil. So why is this so hard to believe?”
Lance gave an angry look at the man in the mask in front of him. He ran his hands through his hair, getting some of the blood out of it.
“Look, I’m just really confused right now, and it would really help me out if you told me everything, before I decided to go along with this.”
“Go ahead and ask away. I will gladly answer all of your questions.”
Lance looked around the circle before asking any questions. He observed all of the men’s faces. It seemed that every single person in the circle looked unsatisfied, and Lance wondered if it was, because he wanted to ask questions, then he looked over at the soldiers face; the one that was attacked. His left eye was squinting for some reason, and his arm would twitch every now and then. Lance pushed all of this out of his mind to ask the man in the mask some questions.
“Well; first off are you all with the government?”
“Negative.”
“Then what the hell are you?”
The man in the mask let out a deep sigh saying,” We are an organization looking to abolish demons from the world.”
“So you’re a Christian group working for God?”
“No, we’re just citizens trying to live in peace, and to do so we have to abolish this evil.”
“So why does the bible you showed me early come into play on this?”
The man in the mask bent his head down. Lance wasn’t sure if he was smiling as if to say,” We finally have a break through,” or as if to say,” He is finally cooperating,” if this meant either one Lance would be happy.
“Come with me.”
The man in the mask said, making his way out of the circle of men. Lance had no other choice, but to follow. After all where else would he have to go?
The man in the mask led them through humongous sliding doors. As they made their way through, Lance wondered if these men captured that giant creature, he had seen earlier. If they did he wondered what they used to capture it. After they went through the next giant door, the man led them into another dark room. Lance found it kind of weird how the only one with a flash light, was the man in the mask. Everyone in the line had to hold onto to one another’s shoulders, this way they didn’t loose anyone, or so nobody would fall behind. Lance was beginning to think the man in the mask was taking him back to the room where he was, because they were now going up another staircase. He was quickly corrected when they got up to the top of the stairs, and the next room looked was well light, looking like some sort of a conference room. Lance looked around him observing his surroundings. Computers were scattered through out the entire room, but the one at the very end of the room had a big screen, almost like you would see in a military base. Lance still found it hard to believe that these people weren’t with the government. Standing in front of the computer was a woman with long brown hair. She stood at about five foot seven, wearing camo pants with a tucked in black shirt. The man in the mask approached her from behind, put his hand on her shoulder.
“AJ, I didn’t know you would be coming so soon.”
“Any word?”
“We have confirmation on the house.”
“Good, now is a perfect time for me to tell the boy.”
Lance moved forward out of the group, getting closer to the man and the woman.
“You had asked me earlier about how Satan’s bible came into this; well I think I can now answer that. What does this look like to you?” AJ asked, pointing at the large computer screen. Lance looked at the screen, seeing an old beaten down house. He has never seen this house before in his life. To him it was just an every day old house.
“It’s a house?”
He said looking over at the beautiful brown hair woman. She smiled at him titling her head down, trying not to make eye contact with him.
“This is no ordinary house, Lance. This house contains something of very great importance. The bible I showed you earlier wasn’t the original satanic bible. The original is in a museum some where in Sweden. Originally we stole this bible from the museum, hoping that it would have some answers on how to totally get rid of the demons.”
The man in the masked stopped speaking, long enough to clear his throat that was when the woman started speaking.
“Over time our examiners study every word of the bible, trying to find codes in it, or something to try, and help us get rid of these demons. Sadly we didn’t find anything in the bible. So we just let the bible sit under tight security. We couldn’t let the museum or anyone else know we had it. But one night something or someone stole it back.
“Do you think it was on-“
“Rrr NO!” The solider that was attack interrupted Lance before he could finish his sentence. Everyone around them looked at the man. He wasn’t looking health at all. His face was really pale, and he was starting to get black underneath both of his eyes. Lance also noticed that his fingernails were black.
“You want to same something, Roger?” AJ asked.
Roger cleared his throat before he spoke,” I was just saying no to his question. He was going to ask if we thought it was someone from the museum stealing it back.”
“How did you know my question before I even asked it, though.”
“I just uh…figured that’s what you were going to say.”
Everyone around Roger gave him a weird look, but it wasn’t to much longer before the woman started to speak again.
“Anyways, we later on found out that whoever took the bible, took it to this house. So we sent out someone to go check it out immediately, needless to say we listened in on the radios as they were going through the house, and it wasn’t pretty. Every single soldier we sent out…none of them came back.”
Lance was in awe to hear that none of them came back. What on earth could have happened to all of them? He thought to himself.
“We think that the bible is somewhere in that house, but we aren’t sure where in the house. That’s why we chose you to become one of us; so you could help us.”
“I will do what I can. But before I do anything, I want to know what type of gun that is you shot the other beast with.”
“We only use special type of guns; the type we make ourselves. They have certain things in them to rip demons inside out, that was what you experienced earlier. Now, if you come with me we can get you ready.”
Everyone in the group started walking forward besides Roger, Lance, and the woman. Roger was standing still holding his side, with an angry look on his face. The woman stopped Lance before he could walk off to talk to him.
“Don’t let AJ get to you. He’s more work then anything. You seem pretty nice; I didn’t want us getting off on the wrong foot, so let’s start over. My name is Samantha.”
Before Lance could shake her hand Roger ran leaped on top of Lance, knocking him to the ground.
Samantha let out a loud shriek, causing everyone to run back to where Lance, and Samantha were.
“What the hell is going on?” AJ asked Samantha.
“I don’t know. Roger just attacked him for no reason at all.”
AJ pulled out his gun he had out before, aiming it at Roger who was on top of Lance, scratching at his chest with his fingernails. AJ thought about it a few second, and then he lowered the gun.
“What the hell are you doing? Aren’t you going to help him?!”
AJ didn’t say anything; he watched as Lance fought against Roger, or what was now some sort of a beast. Roger was still scratching at Lance’s chest with his long extracted finger nails. Both of Lance’s hands were on the creature’s wrist trying to hold them back from his chest. Lance jabbed the creature in the stomach, flipping him over on the ground. He quickly started punching the creature in the face, causing his head to turn from side to side. After a few punches the creature was bleeding through the nose. Needless to say this didn’t affect the creature at all. He looked at Lance with his black piercing eyes, letting out a loud shriek in Lance’s face. Lance quickly jumped off the creature and tried to run over to where AJ was to grab his gun, but Lance was quickly wrapped up by the creatures tongue, and lifted into the air.
“Put me down you ugly son of a bitch!” Lance cried out.
“Are you going to help him or not!?” Samantha asked AJ who was staring at Lance, dangling in the air by the creatures tongue.
Samantha no longer waited for an answer from AJ. She quickly grabbed AJ’s gun out of his hand, running over to the beast. When she was close enough to where she knew she could throw the gun, and Lance could catch it she yelled out,” Lance, catch!” She tossed the gun in the air, as the creature spotted her out of his eye. The creature moved, trying to grab Samantha, and as he moved, he moved Lance closer to the gun. He barely got the gun with one hand, but he didn’t let that stop him. He quickly jabbed the end of the gun into the creature’s long, nasty, red tongue, and pulling the trigger. The creature unwrapped Lance from his tongue, dropping him from up in the air. Lance landed hard on his back, crying out in pain as he heard some cracks from his left side where his ribs were. He held his left side, quickly sitting up on his butt, to see the creature running after him.
Shit, this is it I’m done for. He thought to himself. The creature got to reaching distance in front of him, exploding from inside out. Its organs, skin, and blood shot up in the air, but most of the blood got on Samantha, and Lance.
