St George's Day 2014

It's St George's day in London and the Home Counties too
But I remember Yorkshire and it's dark satanic mills
There's a cheeky cockney bragging all about new engurland
But I prefer to march to the sound of a brass band
He wants to claim the flag back from the fascists of the right
But flags can only blind us and mislead the real fight
This day's a cheap invention by patriotic whores
But I remember Michael Foot and William Horsefall
Instead of bonding over icons of The Lord
Let the workers of this England let out a mighty roar
Damn the saints and masters, and everything they say
I will wait another week and party on May Day

Party on Mayday. Me too! The
Party on Mayday. Me too! The day of red revolution and also the evening before is Beltane the pagan festival.
Your opinion poem is very well timed and clear in its anti-flagwaving views.
George was Ok too. Slaying a dragon that must be a celebration of courage, standing up for what's right even if the opposition seem more mighty and able to kill you with one strike.
Perhaps our true St George heroes today are our anti-nuclear protesters. Elsie
