The Big Bang Theory – Part 1
So I came home from work last night, and I eventually sat down to watch my nightly fix of The Big Bang Theory, but before it came on, I’d caught a bit of the news, one was about a young Mum who had walked out of the hospital with her four day old Daughter, it was a cold day yesterday and the new Mum had no coat or shoes on, her tiny baby was covered in a blanket. Her boyfriend had made an appeal at a press conference; and to me he didn’t seem too bothered! I felt the policeman who spoke after him showed more compassion, letting her know “She is not in any trouble.” Soon after as I was on my laptop, breaking news came on the item that I was looking at, the Mother’s body had been found! I wondered if she had placed her baby on the side before she went in the water, but what chance would any baby have against the cold weather? I thought of her family and friends, I thought of her Teachers, and the Midwives who had helped her during her labour, the nine months pregnancy for nothing! The hopes and dreams. I said to my Daughter, Megan this morning the police now will have to look at the boyfriend and find out what their relationship was like. Maybe it was depression after giving birth or maybe it was she couldn’t face going back home? We don’t know. But I felt sorry for her Parents, they must be gutted. As I write this I have no news on their baby. It was such a sad story.
Then also on the news was the man who was arrested by five police men all caught on camera from a mobile phone. He reminded me of the big guy in the fab film, The Green Mile, the world watched as they got him to the ground and a policeman using a chokehold tight around his neck, we could all hear him saying over and over again, “I can’t breathe” and sadly he died a short time later. He’d been selling illegal cigarettes, so although wrong, but it wasn’t something to kill someone over! People have done worse in the world and lived! And the worse thing? No one will be charged for his murder!
The Big Bang Theory was been recorded but I still flicked through the channels to where it was, and started to watch it, It’s my favourite thing on TV at the moment, I love it! But tonight these two people were on my mind, the new Mum with the baby and the man who died just after he’d been arrested by the policeman using the chokehold, which we were informed later, is banned! I still laughed at The Big Bang Theory but I felt guilty tonight for laughing, as my heart was sad for those who had died. R.I.P. X Xx
