Grace Part Eighteen.

The days, weeks, months and years went by and still we had not consummated our marriage. This was now our second year of marriage. My Mum suggested I have a Prayer Warrior come to the home and pray for us. I REALLY didn’t want to meet another unknown, know about our private life! I was basically fed up to the back teeth! So, I did nothing, but Mum mentioned her again, saying, “Let her come and pray with you, God uses her in a brilliant way.” I’d never met or heard of this woman Joy and eventually I thought I got nothing to lose! Paul didn’t want Joy to come to the house either, but it wasn’t up to Paul, but up to me.
A date was set and I went and picked up Joy, Ruth and Rachael from the Town I grew up in. At my home the three ladies sat on the three-seater sofa, while Paul and I sat on individual sofa chairs opposite each other, Joy and her Prayer Warriors, sat on my right.
Joy introduced herself, then Rachael and Ruth introduced themselves, I can only remember that Rachael or Ruth’s day job was a vet, all three ladies worked. I spoke briefly about our situation, for about a minute or so, then the main person Joy spoke, she said, a few words of encouragement and said, “Ruth and Rachael will now pray and myself too and we will wait on what God will says.” I had lost Faith and Paul ages ago, we were both really down and looked it. Paul looked at the floor and I mainly did too.
The three ladies started to pray, their words out, quietly then after about five minutes Joy stopped the other ladies and said to Paul and me, “I have just had a Word from God and this is what He says, ‘Before the end of the year, you will hold your baby in your arms.” She then said, “Praise God, we thank Him for His answer to Prayer.” My first thought was, does God mean we will conceive? For how we can possibly hold a baby in our arms, before the end of the year, we’d been through SO much, surly He MUST mean conceive! I’d have been happy with conceive, but that wasn’t what God had said through Joy. Joy then said, “God has spoken, our work is done, lets go home.” And with that, they got in my mini and I drove them back to the Town, with snow on the ground.
The very next time that Paul and I tried, we succeeded and consummated out marriage, this was in the second year of our marriage! And soon after I became pregnant. My Mum told Joy at their Place Of Worship and she shouted out her praises and thanks to God on her knees, this was before the Service started, everyone looked and wondered what could possibly had made her SO happy!
God was True to His Word, and in November of that year Daniel was born, I see this as God’s sense of humour, for He didn’t wait until the last date in December but November. He brought us great joy. I just couldn’t believe he, was all mine, I kept expecting someone to take him off me, like in the past SO many times, when new Mums let you hold their new-born, but you had to give them back, it hurt for I wanted a baby of my own, and now here he was. I was a happy Mum.
