A SHORT DIARY

Didn't have to get up for work today but I still woke early. Samantha
was still fast asleep and rather than wake her, I chose to lie in bed
for a while longer. I was surprisingly relaxed and found myself gazing
around the bedroom at some of my belongings, casting my thoughts back
to the fond memories each item brought with it. Even now as I write
this, I am smiling as I remember the day, a few years back, when I
spent almost twenty pounds, trying to win a Winnie the Pooh teddy bear
on one of those grab a prize machines, down on Blackpool promenade. I
can still remember Samantha's face, as she lit up with laughter, on
seeing my only consolation prize: the brown, stuffed donkey that now
sits on the edge of the dressing table, next to Sam's make up box. If I
remember correctly it had a `Made in Taiwan' label sewn between its
back legs that was almost the size of its head, but it looked silly so
it got ripped off.
I don't think I got to reminisce for long before I found the cats
behind, practically rooted to my face, as she jumped up on to the bed
purring softly. She gently brushed her entire body length against the
side of my cheek, before turning around and doing it again. I know it
is just the cats ritual way of saying `make breakfast and I'll love you
forever' but I concentrated on stroking her for a while. I am glad it
wasn't me who named the cat Titch, because she has been putting on
loads of weight lately and is starting to look more like a grey pouffe,
with white patches holding it together, than a real cat.
*Make a note to see the vet about putting Titch on a diet*
or
*Stop buying those cat snacks from the super market*
Finally got dressed when Sam woke up, around 9:30am. Whilst making
breakfast, we made our plans for the day and decided to split the
chores between us. Sam went into Millom to pay the gas bill, buy a
fiver's worth of electric cards, do the shopping and choose a video for
everyone to watch tonight. I got to go through to Barrow and buy some
cheap beer from Netto and to treat myself to some clothes.
Came back from Barrow about 4:30pm and Sam was fuming with me. I only
bought one jumper, as well as the beer, spending the rest of the cash
on a guitar, from the R &; T music shop, the one on Abbey road. The
guitar is an acoustic, G series Takamine, metallic blue, with brass
turn keys and has excellent graphics for when it's plugged into an amp,
although I don't actually know what that means, the guy behind the
counter, assured me that they could cost up to ?279 more in some other
shops. So I was getting a bargain at ?350, and besides, it would be an
extra incentive for me to learn. That was the last thing I managed to
say to Sam before she locked herself in the bathroom to get
ready.
It's nearly 7:30pm and everyone will be arriving
soon&;#8230;&;#8230; it's now just after 8pm. Sa, got out of the
bathroom and finally let me shower and shave, Rob, Susan, Andy, Mark,
Jessica and Alison, have all arrived, so I'll finish off for the
night.

Glad I didn't have work today, because I never woke until late. I
thought Samantha was still fast asleep but I hadn't the energy to wake
her, nor did I intend to get out of bed for a while longer. My stomach
didn't appreciate the battering it got last night and trying to gaze
around the bedroom was hard with the room spinning, casting my
thought's back to the blurred memories, each one bringing waves of
horror. Even now, while I write this I am cringing, as I can still
remember Samantha's face as it filled up with a vale of tears, upon
seeing my last few conscious moment's. Feeding the cat a goldfish,
which Sam's best friend Paula, won at the fair on the way to the party,
and a vague recollection of throwing up all over David, Rob and also
Susan (I think).
I don't think I got to reminisce for long, before I found the cat's
behind, shoved in my face, as she jumped onto the bed, purring too
bloody loud for my head, and as she brushed her entire body length
against the side of my cheek, irritating my flesh with nauseous
sensations, I got a good whiff of the shit she had just done and I felt
sick, I threw the fat blob across the room towards the door.
*Make a note to see the vet about putting Titch to sleep*
or
*Stop buying those cheap tins of tuna*
Finally hit the panic button when `Jessica' woke up. Whilst drinking
coffee, we made our plans for the day and decided to split up and hide
from everyone. At least until we could recall what had happened.
Jessica went to her Mam's to get changed. I got to stay in, tidy the
beer bottles away and wash the dirty clothes.
Jessica finally came back from her Mam's about 4:30pm to see if Sam
was backwith me. I changed my jumper, opened a beer and gave Jessica
the last of my cash, to get some crisps, bread, cigarettes and
chocolate from the shop down the road. I don't know how much I gave
her, but she insisted it was only a couple of quid, but I'm sure it was
more. Jessica hasn't seen anyone all day. It's almost as if everyone
has vanished. I'll wait until Jessica leaves before I pop around to see
Sam's Mam but it would be an extra incentive to go now if Jessica
hadn't locked herself in the bathroom, to get freshened up.
It's nearly 7:30pm. I want to be leaving soon&;#8230;. It's now
just after 9pm. Sam came around to tell me it was all over between us,
then she punched Jessica in the face as she was stepping out of the
bathroom, wearing Samantha's dressing gown. Rob, Susan, Andy, Mark and
Alison all arrived and ensured that everything that was Sam's went,
leaving me and Jessica broken hearted or broken nosed.
So I'll finish myself off, tonight.
