To celebrate
the return of the new ABCtales site I've decided to write a
diary. Though it has to be said there are other, much less
noble reasons as well. For instance:
*I feel
the need to produce some form of written material and I don't have any
other inspiration.
*I've never yet completed an abc
set and this seems as good a way as any to do it
*I'm
a student and therefore don't have anything better to do with my time
as I don't have a job or even pay tax anymore
Anyway,
as I said I've decided to write a diary. A la Bridget Jones, but maybe
less amusing and without the significant weight gain, alcohol consumed
factors?.. then again..I am a student..
Moving on?
perhaps I should introduce myself. I'm 27, a bit late for higher
education perhaps but as I've been a slacker most of my life I saw no
reason not to carry on the trend and university was the obvious road to
take. I'm studying the impressively named Religion, Philosopy and
Ethics BA course which, rather less impresively, seems to involve
mostly talking and little studying (the later of which I'm clearly
avoiding by writing this diary.. do you see the
pattern?)
I live in a shared flat with 7 other
slackers: A, from Newcastle, an aspiring dentist, he quits smoking
every day and brings home a different lady friend every night; G, a
londoner through and through, he's taking medicine and works as a nurse
in a psyciatric hospital in his spare time; L, from Somerset, studying
law but she doesn't want to be a lawyer, very sweet but has a
complicated love life; E, half Ghanan half English phisicist, VERY
Christian, he seems obsessed with all things clean; A, Pakistani but
raised in LA, comes from a long line of lawyers,he's the rich one among
us; S, Northern Irish, medicine, wicked sense of humour; and SI, from
Hong Kong, very quiet and 'good' (I think she disapproves of
me)
Well thats us, flat 7, block one, of a huge
student complex with 700 other slackers in it, set in the middle of
Central London with sirens going all night (I've heard 4 since i
started this entry) I've been here 7 weeks already, and I'm still not
used to it?
Well it appears it's time for me to go to
the pub now, ah a student's work is never done? wonder who A will bring
back tonight?..
