Stormy Voices

Basking in the kisses of raindrops.
Fingers reading whispers in the wind.
The murky odor of things long gone and perfume of what's to come.
Airtight sealed inside a crystal tin.
The Earth's gliding 'round the river.
Deep water drowns the quivering soul.
The city's burning as the lamplight withers.
Listen to the whispers in the squall.
Killing time on the shoreline of a vein.
Collecting salt from the sea called Possibility.
Rusted, strangled wailing from dead trains
Bleeds deep.
Killing time on the shoreline of a vein.
The Earth's gliding 'round the river.
Deep water drowns the quivering soul.
The city's burning as the lamplight withers.
Listen to the wispers in the squall.
Radio towers shred the sky to pieces.
Funneling vibrations down towards the trees.
Vibrations sipped and inhaled by long-forgotten creatures
With shadows, stars and music in their hair.
The Earth's gliding 'round the river.
Deep water drowns the quivering soul.
The city's burning as the lamplight withers.
Listen to the wispers in the squall.
Totem poles dribbled in spray paint
Burn up to the sun
On the wings of lighter fluid.
The smoke lives in the glow of headlights.
Tangled sheets sewn from the night sky.
Toes curl into the moonlight.
Elastic bodies strain to brush the heavens.
The creatures watch the fleets of paper lanterns
Drifting on the current to the sea.
No-one's there to see the when they fall and die,
But they'll be remembered by the trees.
The Earth's gliding 'round the river.
Deep water drowns the quivering soul.
The city's burning as the lamplight withers.
Listen to the wispers in the squall.
