In the shade of this lost valley
savour pestilence destroyed,
death walled up to die
behind rough hewn stone
sealed with bitumen
from the sunny side of the wall.
Question not the moral dilemma
of this sort of murder, for
when he breathes his final breath
and dies in the gathered dust of centuries
his curse will be silenced forever,
and many shall be saved.
