The uniformed shooter squeezed down upon the trigger of his cornucopic machine gun and fired, the bullets in his amunition clip atomically replicating so that he could never run out of ammunition; he fired and fired and fired, spinning round like a carousel of death, deafening himself to screams with the thunder of his weapon; littering the ground with spent cartridges, the dead bodies of white coated scientists and a sea of blood.
The cornucopic device the scientists had been working on would have ended scarcity, would have brought down the price of everything; inflation would have plummeted; the value of all currencies, soared; everyone in the world would have become rich, and social inequality, vanished.
"Good work soldier", said a voice through his earpiece as he looked around at the bloody, bullet riddled walls of the laboratory with pride.
"Thank you sir", he replied.
"No..thank you", said the voice, "For you have saved civilisation as we know it from a very devestating machine".
