Though her branches, they must wither
and her Autumn leaves descend,
still she shall go on forever
and forever without end.
Though each part becomes departed
and the many must be shed,
from their ash new flames are started;
new life rising from the dead.
And when, by death’s hand, I’m smited;
when its veil descends on me,
with her I’ll be reunited
like a river with the sea.
