“For Christ’s sake! That is a damn short dress!” uttered Diego Cavanes as Natalia entered the conference room in a long sleeve crotchet mini dress with matching lingerie in deep red, “How do you cover that crotch?”
“With my bag,” returned Natalia holding a black little purse meticulously in the crotch like she said and a handbag on her shoulder, “Good Afternoon!” She reached the first seat on his left, her legs freshly treated.
“Good Afternoon! Teep!” he drew the attention of the team seated around the black conference table, “I will clear this out for Natalia. She’s collected information and material but we are getting nowhere. It keeps digging earth and going on longer than OJ Simpson’s chase…”
“Oh! Come on!” cried Natalia.
Diego Cavanes continued, “Computer generated DNA processed by the University of San Diego of all those pieces of underwear you picked, show they all belong to one person, Miss Natalia Porn…”
She threw the pen at him, “Insane Diego!”
“Alright! Alright!” Diego stood up from the chair and reached the projector, “This Maurus Laundry belongs to Linda Linz and by that, I mean we have examined her DNA. We failed to find a match to Linda from any other location, Milwaukee or Charleston. So, we put aside DNA for now and focus on fingerprints,” he clicked on a slide to appear on the projector screen. “Enrique has done an excellent job, both on the computer and to his naked eye. This is Linda’s. Fingerprints collected from Maurus Circle but we did not find a match from 69 Church Street or the camera case. It’s washed off.
“Another slide, Noth Edwidge Wellinois. We have taken his sample from court documents. His fingerprints appear in the camera case but only in it.
“Jadon Quinn. Appeared in Valor and 69 Church Street, probably on the same dates, along with P1 and P2, those two persons we have not identified.
“P1. Found in the camera case, Valor and 69.
“P2. Found in Valor and 69.
“P1 and P2, one of them, we can assume, is Paul Clancy.
“P3. Found in Valor and 69. His fingerprints are on the credit card and this belongs to the Colombian. And yes, this is Curtis, he is a smoker.”
He changed the slide, “This is a chart of persons of interest and evidences falling on locations and items listed down the left column. You have the prints in front of you. It’s all up to you to decide dates and reasons. And this mysterious man, P1 or P2, we just don’t know.”
“Paul Clancy!” uttered Natalia.
“Yes,” said Diego Cavanes sitting down, “I could not find much about him. I called Girth Collins, my friend from SpEye, New York. You have there something to read on Jadon Quinn.
“He was born in Savannah, Georgia, whole family moved to some other place. Interestingly, both Quinn and Clancy graduated from high school together in Savannah. Beaufort is fifty miles from there, in the parishes, military controlled areas in the low-lying coasts of South Carolina. Slaves ruled the land sometime in history, outnumbered European settlers.
“Well, Jadon Quinn worked at a law office in New York. A clever guy but he was caught cheating his clients and he was fired. Five years later, Quinn formed his own company in Madison.”
“Paul Clancy must be in his fifties!”
“Forties. He was born on 12th April 1947. Jadon Quinn on 12th July, same year. Girth Collins will call when Thomas Cyril returns. He is abroad.”
“Get me his cellular number.”
“No,” objected Diego, “We have to treat him with caution. What about Linda?”
“She is going to hold the rave, Komos, in the first week of April in Corpus Christi, Alejandro told me.”
“This Wellinois. Now we have an address and a telephone number in Baton Rouge derived from the court documents. If you want me to find him, I can do it. I have found three Crapes. Two in Baton Rouge and another in Annaville, Corpus Christi. You’ll find that in your papers. So, what am I supposed to do?”
“I’ll go to Baton Rouge and Corpus Christi. I want to attend that rave.”
“Won’t you miss the ring?”
“I hope to come back soon.”
“Are you flying?” asked Diego.
“I wish I could. I have taken only two flights. But I have to take my Bronco.”
“You can hire a car!”
“I have to take other things,” said Natalia.
“Don’t take the camera case. Keep floppies with you,” Diego advised, “I have ten pieces of Toshiba laptops and I am giving each a new piece. Enrique, please!”
Enrique picked those boxes from a large carton and distributed.
“Wow!” cried Natalia, “Is this Macintosh?”
“Toshiba,” replied Diego, “South Korean.”
“Japan,” corrected Enrique Cavanes, “Windows Operating System.” They unpacked the boxes and spent that whole afternoon on it.
