Knock It Off

I switch on the light
And seek a spark
Where’s my sight
I’m still in the dark
I missed the button
The precise one
I realise
It happened twice
Knock it off…
I missed a while
I touch the table
And shock the elbow
A live cable
Passed me a blow
Of these reflexes
Electrifying
Unresponsive
And paralysing
Knock it off…
Off balance
I try the door
It knocked me out
On the floor
I lay cold
I lose my keys
In my pocket
I forget things
Important dates
Knock it off…
I’m half past dead
I hear a ring
That shook me up
In the surrounding
It won’t budge
Through my ears
And not from the rear
A tinnitus
Sound barrier
Knock it off…
Dementia
I want to go
I don’t know where
In this void
I’m in error
North or south
My compass fails
My natal clock
Is a door nail
Knock it off…
Direction
I remember nothing
Of yesterday
But it’s written
In the diary
I overslept
I have slipped
Time is passing
Before my aging
Knock it off…
New Dimension
