It started with a go-kart

I was driving along, the wind rushing through my hair. This was the best fun I'd had in ages, everything about this setting and experience was perfect.
Then suddenly the ground seemed to disappear from below me; I was swirled around into darkness and then BAM!
As abruptly as it had started, the darkness faded and I was walking to the outside of a house I didn't recognise at all. I looked around me inquisitively wondering what was going on; but I saw that my family were following me in and that brought a strange sense of calm over me. Even with them around me I did still wondered how I had got here so quickly and what I was doing here.
As we entered the house, I was greeted by a group of people that for some reason I couldn't quite make out. I rubbed my eyes, but that made no difference at all. 'Must just be me,' I thought to myself. Even so, I noticed how everybody seemed to gravitate towards me as if I was the most important person in the room.
Stranger still, we were moving them into our house for the night.
'I thought they were just coming to the cinema with us,' I said, then stopped.
'That wasn't me speaking,' I pondered that for a minute. Then realised I needed to help out with the move.
Rapidly somehow, I was then stood in 'my room' in another house that I was sure I had never seen before in my life. I tried to ignore this, just thinking I was being completely crazy today; and started to have a laugh with my brother.
We headed downstairs and I realised that my mum hadn't got to the house yet. I was about to ask my sister where she was when the doorbell rang.
My sister ran to the door, but when she opened it a wierd man was stood holding the suitcase my mum should have had.
He looked at my sister and said nothing but she seemed to understand and turned to look at me with an expression I couldn't quite work out at first. Then I realised it was just sadness, plain sadness and I understood instantly somehow.
I looked past both of them and I saw my mum stood on the opposite side of the road, already turning away.
'Noooo mum, dont! Wait for me!' I shouted, jumping out of the door before the others could stop me and ran straight across the road.
A bright red mini beeped its horn at me and I tried to get out of its way while still making it across the road. I could see my mum was getting away but for some reason my legs would not move, I felt like I was swimming in the air. I started thrashing my arms about but when I looked up, she had completely disappeared from view.
I promptly gave up and just let my arms drop to my side. I turned to head back to the house with a backwards glance, I felt completely numb.
Then I realised that I was pushing my way through crowds of people that had just seemingly appeared from nowhere. I felt so useless that even this didn't make a difference to me. I felt lost.
I looked up and I was back at the house. I stepped in and collapsed to the floor in fits of tears.
With a shock, I woke up with a tear running down my face and a lump caught in my throat.
