Down the tunnel

Down the tunnel in the tube you caught the map that showed the place
Along the platform in the mob you spread your feet to take the space
On the stairs stepped in and up across the way you glimpsed a face
At the station you searched for the clock checked the time just in case
Through the barrier you walked the length examined the seats slowed your pace.
Among the rucksacks through the bags scanned the seats took your pick
Squeezing in began to pound your ribcage tightened breathing quick
In your head the silent turmoil shoulders slumped you were feeling sick
Scrolled the calls logged the times saw the message read the schtick
Drowning flailing struggling for air you went under again from one more kick.
Took the path turned the key shivering cold wet and blown
Entered the dark knew the way held the wall checked the phone
Found the chair called the number understood heard the tone
Pressed the switch pulled the door dropped the knife started to moan
Left the kitchen lay on the bed uncovered unguarded unwanted alone.
