I dreamt of you last night

Your eyes had not the flinty hue
they wore by day but were
the gleaming blue of bed instead.
I saw but the top of your head,
as always your mouth beneath
the crumpled whiteness of the sheet.
Your charms before me
in outstretched arms, I felt compelled
to take your wrists,
slid them up to pin you down,
your hands secured by my fists.
Watching your face the while,
its softened aspect seeming to smile,
I suspended my limbs above,
saw those blues go limpid with love.
I pressed with my body and on my best bone
felt your desire until it was grown.
How cruel those moments when in dream we awake
to truths untrue, our joys all fake.
