This story is so real - I can imagine this summer of decades past with your descriptions. Not an easy decade and so, I am intrigued to see where you will go in this story. Waiting now for part three.
keeping up with the jones...what a lovely take on neighbors, as birds. I truly loved this little story and will have to find the first parts to read now.

Wow, I did not see that ending- I loved the dialogue between the two sea men it was quick, witty and believable. I had a bad feeling they might hit a storm or lose the engine, or something, but I never imagined the freighter.
