He always said he'd hate this kind of control over the forums, so it's not surprising that he's currently in absentia. *However*, he may realise it's not as bad as he thought it'd be. After all, SG is in charge of moderation, and he likes Missi. I think.
Funnily enough, I had a postcard from George just a few days ago. He's in Goa right now, but has been travelling around a fair bit. He has been fixing boats on the beach and thinks that he might stay and make a go of it. The only problem is that he keeps shouting at hippies.
maybe if we shine a huge outline of a guitar onto the clouds over Gotham he'll come back.
Surely there must be a 'special' red telephone in ABC offices that link directly to his cave.
Gone?
I'm still here.
So are some of the site dickheads as well I see, plus we seem to have acquired a new one!
Slimey Mykle shouldn't talk about being 'civilised', unless of course harrassment of women is now civilised behaviour.
Jon has proved yet again he knows nothing about my feelings on anything.
Anyway, I'm sorry to disappoint them and all my other detractors but I ain't dead yet.
OK, you've all had your say so perhaps it's time to set the record straight.
I've been absent from the site for five weeks. I told those that asked that I was in Nashville. Although I visited Nashville I never spent a single night there, nor did I post anything from there, either as myself or anybody else. The reason I said I was in Nashville is that it saved a lot of confusion. In the same way I told Americans that I come from London, if I'd told them that I came from Sth Woodham they wouldn't have had any idea where that was and I'd eventually have had to explain in detail EXACTLY where I come from. As far as Nashville goes, I wasn't even in the same county, but it was near enough to satisfy the curious without them having to google Franklin, (which is where I actually lived for the month). I DID manage to check my email and look at the site a couple of times, but not from Nashville. During my absence some w.anker started a thread using my name. They also made posts on several threads impersonating me. I emailed Mark & Tony (more than once) asking for my name to be removed from those threads. Eventually the posts WERE removed but my name has been left as the author of the offending thread. I insist I want my removed from that thread.
Ralph started a thread (this one) asking about my whereabouts. That festering sack of crap Slimey Mykle couldn't resist one of his provocative snidey remarks. That was soon followed by a less than friendly remark by Jon 'I'm a genius' Stone and the inevitable rubbish from the creep in Australia. (if you're going to ban someone, it really only works if you mean it and prevent their return. I can only assume you can't be arsed to block him again).
None of the provacative posts drew any remark from the management, (either implied or blatant), but as soon as I reply in kind I get a response inferring that I have breached some code of conduct. I have also mailed Mark asking for a reason that my password for a legitimate identity doesn't work, and also enquired why the few cherries that I had have all disappeared. So far I have had no reply, he must be too busy telling everyone about the google bar!
I suggest that before I get criticism for my reactions to posts, you consider whether the posts I replied to abide by the code you infer I have broken in my replies.
I thank you.
Bloody hell. All I said was that you've opposed, at various times in the past, any kind of enforced moderation on the forums. How exactly, pray tell, is that misrepresenting your feelings, or, indeed, 'less than friendly'?
It's not a bug...it's a feature.
