If ever there was justification for the licence fee then this is it.

The BBCs new wildlife series is truly beautiful. Every frame could be framed and there isn't a single shot that doesn't deserve the title 'once in a lifetime'.
This is the BBC at its best and there's nobody in the world who can come close.

This first episode of a TV series could have taken more than one oscar last night- it was just astounding. I can't praise it highly enough.

The aerial photography of the dog hunt was breath taking, the sharks coming out of the water was amazing, the monkeys walking through the flooded plains made me wet myself with laughter and the lost elephant in the dust storms made me cry as the camera pulled away and we were told that he had finally found his mother's trail but was following it the wrong way, and we see the dry vastness that the herd has just staggered through for weeks ahead of him and know that he will surely die. I wanted the camera crew to fly down and turn him around towards the water that was only a few miles away but that's what the best wildlife Tv does, it takes you right into nature until you feel like a part of it.

Just superb in every way.... god bless the BBC!!!

Agreed. I adored it. A few cheeky spliffs and David Attenborough's lulling husk = Best. Sunday. Ever. The images of the great white shark were incredible. And the shots of a "flock" of 3 million migratory birds. Go BBC. Joe
Sadly I missed it; will try to catch the next one. David Attenborough is sooooo sexy. "Lulling husk" is the perfect description of that delicious man's voice... oh, yes, the wildlife shots must have been good, too, I'm sure...
Incredible is the word for the wildlife shots, in fact for the whole thing. I also was rolling with laughter at the baboons holding up their arms as they paddled across the river you could almost imagine them saying 'shit, no one told me it would be this cold.' The lost baby elephant was heartbreaking (how did anyone resist turning it round), as was the wolf chasing the baby deer thing, even I (who has worked with animals most of my life) was yelling 'RUNNNNN' at the screen. Can't wait for the next one!
Hahah...just read this Ag...*David Attenborough is sooooo sexy. * Isn't he older than God?
Yes brilliant. I just can't stand the inevitable baby gets eaten shots. Was hiding behind cushion during Karibou chase - didn't do the trick though - could still hear the music. Dramatic crescendo... 'Guess baby made a mistake then.' 'Yep.'
p.s. my sister met David Attenborough a while ago at work. He's 18 months younger than God, but then God gets more sleep and moisturises.
Oh, he's the sexiest thing since french toast with maple syrup, as far as I'm concerned. I don't care how old he is, that man is SEXEH... Face it, every single programme he's ever done has been breathtakingly beautiful. The world needs people like him to remind us of how fabulous our little planet really is...
I agree, the programmes are breathtakingly beautiful...but I have to draw the line at Attenborough, he is actually older than my grandparents and that's just wrong on every level.
Aw, I'd sit on his lap and let him tell me a story any old time... I know, it's weird. I think Michael Portillo is sexy, too, so clearly there's some aberration in my sexual preference DNA...
