Fowler Vs Fowler

So what about Mark bawling out his "evil mother last night then? A long time coming, I say!

~PEPS~

That's what happens when people become so bastard fucking annoying with their incredibly stupid and meaningless comments on every fucking ridiculous subject imaginable, eventually they make people flip and scream like mad banshees.......ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Best you could say is "Not as fowl as it could have been." :O) Can't comment on the Tv prog. as I don't watch soaps.

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

My friend Nom would insist that we watch this so-called comedy on Tv at 6 every evening (straight after the Thai National Anthem). This 'comedy' consisted of lady-boys and several other men (often with beards) dressed as women performing poorly choreographed slapstick. I doubt that anyone from England would have found it remotely funny but her joy and simple delight were more than worth missing whatever might have been on the film channels. Live and let live and try to find ways to be content.
Soap operas in themselves are not, by their very nature, evil. They are diversionary. That's fine - so long as you use the rest of your time to good effect. Eastblenders is not my soap of choice - but I can be found every 20 episodes or so tuning in to Coronation St and I do, on occasion, listen to the Archers on a Sunday morning. Corrie reminds me of my childhood in Manchester and I enjoy its mordant Northern wit and the Archers reminds me of much of my life, lived in small country villages. I enjoy them both. It doesn't make me an idiot. The cultural snobbery of spartacad merely stops debate. Most of the soaps reflect 'ordinary ' life in one ridiculously over-inflated way or another. They do bring up issues that many of us face in our lives and help us to discuss them in a non personal way so that we are better equipped to deal with them when they crop up in reality. But if it helps spartacad to 'go off on one' when he hears news of a soap then it is probably allowing him time and space to let off steam - so there's another purpose for them.
I watch such drivel as an antidote to the seriousness, the wars, the environmental issues, the constant barrage of you-and-this-fragile-planet-on-which-you-are-precariously-perched-are-doomed... I read books... I write... I partially keep up with "events"... I occasionally "worry" about what's going to happen to us all... but the drivel that is Eastenders, with it's eminent predictability and, let's face it, overblown dramatic unrealism, soothes me, entertains me... similarly my PS2 and it's solve-all-the-problems-by-blowing-the-crap-out-of-your-enemies catharsis... because, after all, we are human, which means that yes, we are intellectual, should care about our fellow man/women/child/aubergine, should be concerned about all the big and scary truth that's going on around us, should think on a higher plane, gubbins gubbins gubbins, but hell, shouldn't we also be allowed to indulge in simple, mindless fun? Criminy... ~PEPS~ “You do not truly know someone until you fight them.”

I would agree with Tony in general. However, I am quite convinced that Dallas changed the world for the worse with its theme that if you're a big enough bastard you'll always come out on top (except in dream sequences)!
My girlfriend wanted to be JR Ewing when she grew up. ~PEPS~ “You do not truly know someone until you fight them.”

I wanted to be Bobby and can still swim like The Man From Atlantis :O)

No... just when I'd convinced myself Hollywood remakes couldn't get any worse :- Dallas Movie Casting. Robert Luketic is rounding up his cast for the updated take on the classic '80s series: He's offered his "Monster-in-Law" star Jennifer Lopez the part of Sue Ellen Ewing, Luke Wilson is negotiating to play Bobby Ewing, John Travolta has an offer to star as J.R. Ewing and Shirley MacLaine is down for the part of Miss Ellie Ewing.
That J.Lo sure can act! ~PEPS~ “You do not truly know someone until you fight them.”
