Smoking Cats'n'Mice
Today's Metro tells of how smoking scenes have been edited out of 2 episodes of Tom & Jerry, as well as episodes of Scooby Doo and The Flintstones. Is this political correctness gone mad? Or a long overdue reaction to outmoded forms of children's entertainment?
My first reaction was to say (to myself, quietly, while sitting on the bus), "Political correctness gone mad! I watched these programmes when I was young and I've turned out okay. But then I thought¦ well, maybe it is time we (i.e. the TV people ) were more responsible about such things. So now I am on the fence!
Waddya think?
