My book to be published!!!

So the good news is Jonathan Cape have bought my book, 'Me and Mickie James' and it will be published some time next year!!!!

I've just seen this on publishing news where the publisher compared it to The Committments - “the same amazing energy and humour, the same storytelling ability, the same realisation of how important pop music is in all our lives, the same irresistible charm”.

Me and Mickie James appeared on abc ages ago as stories featuring Down By Law, and I think the only reason it ever became a novel was because people said nice things about it on here and I was encouraged to write more.

So, after so many years, AT LAST!!!!

Thanks Tony, and I owe an especial thanks to you, as you were always really nice about these stories. I mean it when I say ABC made a huge difference to the way that I write. It encouraged me to be wierd and do my own thing. I've already tried to get time off for Brighton but I can't unfortuanately.

Cheers everyone! The title is thanks to the agent. Maddan - The first and last chapters are now completely different (there are only 7) and I changed it a bit to make it more of a novel, working on the relationship between the two. And I've edited them. But apart from that it's the same story. Cape are a fantastic publisher and I still can't quite believe it..... Yeah!!!!!!!
